Through its port in Stari Grad, Hvar is linked with the entire coastline (three times a week) with a ferry line Rijeka-Zadar-Split-Stari Grad-Split and with an international ferry line (every day) Pescara-Stari Grad-Split and with an international ferry line (two times a week) Ancona-Stari Grad-Split-Korcula.

By airplane
The Split airport (http://www.split-airport.hr/) is the closest one to Hvar. There is organized transportation on the airport with buses to the Split port every 20 minutes.In the ports Jadrolinija offices (http://www.jadrolinija.hr/) ask for the regular lines to the island.
If there is no direct flight to Split from the destination you are traveling from, you can arrange your flight through Zagreb (http://www.zagreb-airport.hr/) which has a very good connection with Split.
By car
There are two ferry ports with car admission on Hvar; Stari Grad and Sucuraj. The port of Stari grad has a connection with Split and it is closer, and a ride to Zavala takes about 20 minutes, and that road goes cross the beautiful southern side of the island.
The port in Sucuraj has a connection with Drvenik on land and is further away from Zavala, because it is located on the other side of the island. Nevertheless, this link saves time for the tourists that are travelling from the Dubrovnik, Mostar or Sarajevo direction.
The parking lot is situated right by the Pension Marjan.

By bus
The closest bus station in Split is located right next to the ferry port. Split has a favourable bus connections to all directions. There are everyday bus lines from Hvar to Zavala, Stari Grad and Jelsa. Fares can be bought on the bus.
By train
All of the bigger cities in Croatia are connected through out the railway, besides Dubrovnik. Croatia has direct connections with Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Montenegro, and transitional connections with almost all European countries.
